Michael Sherred
Son of a carpenter, in 1990 Michael set up as a bespoke furniture maker and designer in Brighton. He soon found his skills with wood much in demand.
Michael has built his reputation on both the quality of his workmanship and his ability to listen, clarify and understand the requirements of his customers. This ensures they are delighted with what he produces for them and many return with further orders.
Whilst working with an emphasis on function and style, since becoming the father of twins, Michael has also applied his ingenuity and craftsmanship to the needs of children. He has earned a reputation as a designer and creator of beautiful objects that are child friendly and meet children’s need for safety, creative play and imaginative toy storage.
Local knowledge enables Michael to select the correct timber for a particular project from reputable suppliers. Wherever possible, Michael uses native (U.K. or European) woods from responsibly and sustainably managed forests. Environmentally-friendly oils and other finishes are used and waste materials are minimal – even shavings and sawdust are recycled as mulch for allotments!
